Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania
The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania serves over 50,000 girls between the ages of 5 and 17 in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton and Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania. Founded in 2007, it is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization with 17,000 adult volunteers. The organization s camps offer a variety of activities, such as archery, arts and crafts, horseback riding and hiking. It also provides Girl Scouts, a values-based and informal educational program. The organization is a part of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, which is a youth organization for girls in the United States and American girls living abroad. Founded in 1912, the parent organization is based on the scouting principles developed by Robert Baden-Powell.
