Big East Akita Rescue (B.E.A.R.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Akitas in the NY, NJ, and PA metropolitan region and the Northeast. With the help of generous donations, B.E.A.R. provides a safe haven for unwanted, abused, and neglected Akitas, giving them a chance to find loving homes.
Committed to making a difference, B.E.A.R. has successfully rescued and rehomed over 95 Akitas in 2015 alone, and currently cares for approximately 24 Akitas. Their mission is to save lives and bring about positive change by providing a second chance to these loyal, powerful, and dignified dogs.
