Founded in 1917, the Bergen County Y, a Jewish Community Center is a nonprofit, voluntary organization. It supports Jewish communities and promotes their heritage and culture through an array of educational, recreational, social and cultural programs. The organization maintains more than 80,000 square-foot of facility that includes a cardio center, gymnasium, aerobics and dance studio, swimming pools, racquetball courts, and indoor walking and jogging tracks. The Bergen County Y, a Jewish Community Center has adults, fitness, aquatics, and sports and recreation departments. Its youth services department offers creative education programs for students from kindergarten through grade 12. It also operates an early childhood center that provides early developmental skill programs. Additionally, the organization conducts advanced ceramic classes and private guitar and piano sessions. The Bergen County Y, a Jewish Community Center maintains location in Township of Washington, N.J. It is a beneficiary agency of the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey and the United Way of Bergen County.
