The Althea Gibson Early Childhood Education Academy, a part of the East Orange School District, serves students in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. The school is named after Althea Gibson, the first African-American woman to compete and win at Wimbledon and Forest Hills. It maintains facilities for kindergarten and preschool classes, as well as multipurpose and parent rooms.
