Dr. Xi Ren Zhou is a licensed acupuncturist and herbologist in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Zhou graduated in 1982 from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, one of China's leading medical schools. She obtained her MD degree with training in both Chinese medicine and Western medicine. Dr. Zhou was an assistant professor at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, practicing and teaching acupuncture and herbal medicine in Shanghai until 1989, she then practiced acupuncture and herbal medicine in Japan for four years.In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she has conducted research on the effects of drugs and growth factors on brain function both at Nagoya City University Medical School in Japan and with the Department of Pharmacology of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ since 1993.Since 1996 Dr. Zhou opened her clinic office in Summit, NJ, a practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine, serving the local community over years and having treated over 15,000 patients thus far.
