Nancy Hartelius and Ava Meade began Bright Start Early Learning Center in 2008. The center, located inside the Presbyterian Church of West Caldwell, strives to provide age-appropriate learning for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years old. Bright Start offers either three-, four- or five-day nursery school programs. Students can attend three-hour, half-day programs, six-and-a-half hour full-day programs or a 10-hour extended day. The center also provides a six-week summer program in June and July for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 years old. Each session features a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that includes arts and crafts, music, stories and water games.
