Founded in 1852, Pennichuck Water Works has grown to become one of the largest investor-owned water companies in the state of New Hampshire, serving a population of over 120,000 people in approximately 25 communities throughout Southern New Hampshire and in Massachusetts. The company is engaged primarily in the collection, storage, treatment and distribution of potable water. It is the principal subsidiary of Pennichuck Corporation, a holding company with five wholly owned operating subsidiaries. The corporation is comprised of three private water utilities, including Pennichuck Water Works, Pittsfield Aqueduct Company and Pennichuck East Utility, which are regulated by the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission, and two non-regulated companies, Pennichuck Water Service Company and The Southwood Corporation. Pennichuck Corporation is a publicly traded holding company listed on the NASDAQ under the symbol PNNW. Pennichuck Water Works is located in Nashua, N.H.
