Christ Church

Christ Church is a multi-generational, inclusive community where worship, learning, and service flourish. The parish is known for its strong programs in music, Christian formation, and outreach, both locally and globally. Founded in 1835 by Abraham Marland, a local mill owner who had emigrated from Liverpool, England, Christ Church brought the Episcopal/Anglican tradition of worship to the Andover area. Although firmly rooted in the Episcopal tradition, Christ Church welcomes people from all backgrounds, and prides itself on being a place where people are free to question and to think for themselves. Christ Church owns and operates the Christ Church Children’s Center and the Andover Thrift Shop. Ballard Vale United Church

The Ballard Vale United Church is a church following both the Methodist and Congregational faiths but will accept anybody into its community. The congregation is rooted in two different churches that both began in Andover in 1850. The two churches, the Union Congregational Church and the Methodist Episcopal Church, decided to merge in 1955. The church has been located at its current spot on Clark Road since 1967. The church still embodies both the Methodist and and the Congregational faiths.

Messiah Lutheran Church

The Messiah Lutheran Day School operates as a separate entity from the Messiah Lutheran Church, although the two share a building and a close relationship. The preschool offers three programs for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old: Preschool classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, and transitional kindergarten classes are held Monday through Friday. Classes run both half and extended days. Enrollment is not limited to Lynnfield residents, and children from many surrounding communities, including Peabody and Reading, attend the school. The Messiah Lutheran Day School prides itself on "teaching to the whole child - academic, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical— in a creative, nurturing and supportive environment." Joanne Penta serves as the school's director.
