The Exeter Public Works Department operates and manages engineering, highway, storm water, solid waste, maintenance, and water and sewer divisions. Its engineering division offers a range of project management, construction inspection, site planning, infrastructure mapping and traffic engineering services. The department s highway division maintains drainage pipelines, catch basins, roads, sidewalks, manholes, bridges, dams, traffic lights and pavement markings. The Exeter Public Works Department is also responsible for the collection of solid waste, as well as the recycling of glass containers, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, corrugated cardboards and paper bags. In addition, it provides disposal services for a variety of hazardous wastes, such as batteries, tires, fluorescent bulbs, paints, furniture and construction debris.
