The Dover Police Department is an internationally accredited law enforcement agency approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. It maintains order and protects life and property in the city of Dover, N.H., which has a population of more than 28,000 residents. The department conducts various community policing and outreach programs in collaboration with the business community, schools, media, parents, youths, social service organizations and senior citizens. In addition, Dover Police Department operates a records bureau, legal and special services units, and bike and mounted patrols.
