Betenu is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. The majority of members are Reform Jews and some are Reconstructionist Jews. The congregation believes in an inclusive approach for helping all Jews meets the challenges of contemporary life. Betenu provides a weekend religous school to help young Jewish children learn about Judaism and the traditions associated with Jewish heritage. The congregation's mission statement is, "To be a home for all to participate in a Jewish community--a community to learn Torah, to worship God, and to improve the world." To that end, the congregation sponors several charitable contributions within the community, including scholarship and educational endowment funds.
