Founded in 1818, the Concord Fire Department is a public safety agency that coordinates responses to fire, police and medical emergencies. Located in Concord, N.H., the department employs more than 100 full-time individuals. It operates ladder, engine, and advanced life support ambulance and rescue companies. In addition, the Concord Fire Department operates fire prevention and fire alarm divisions. The department provides hazardous materials response and specialized technical rescue services for over 43,000 residents. Its communications division provides dispatch service for the community. The department s fire alarm division maintains a municipal fire alarm system, as well as traffic lights for the city. The Concord Fire Department offers inspection services for checking safety conditions.
