Opened in 1976, Bicentennial Elementary School serves more than 700 students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in art, music and physical education. Bicentennial Elementary School offers peer meditation and character education programs. Its facilities include a playground, cafeteria, computer laboratory and media center with nearly five computers and over 13,000 books. The school has a parent-teacher organization that publishes a newsletter and organizes bingo nights, roller skating, and staff and volunteer appreciation functions. In addition, Bicentennial Elementary School provides several after-school programs, such as Math Olympiad, Destination ImagiNation, and chess, chorus, band and volleyball clubs. The school is located in Nashua, N.H., and is a part of the Nashua School District.
