Latin Chamber of Commerce
HistoryIf the Latin Chamber of Commerce, which had its founding in the mid-1970s, had been forced to begin its operations like most other businesses - with an office, paid staff members, and most importantly, money - the organization, as it's known today, may very well not exist. Rather, it took the vision, insight and determination of a handful of business people, who had many unrealized hopes and dreams, to put the organization together at a time when the average person would have simply thrown in la toalla. The chamber has become heavily involved in political and social issues that directly affect Latinos, and more recently it has worked toward providing greater government procurement and contracting opportunities for its membership, creating educational opportunities for Hispanic students in southern Nevada.SpecialtiesThe mission of the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce is to promote the success of our members and Hispanic-owned businesses by facilitating positive business, cultural and educational relationships, economic development and knowledge sharing in a productive, professional and cost effective manner.
