The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services provides a variety of public welfare services. It has several divisions and units, including budget and statistics, child support enforcement, employment and support services, investigations and recovery, and child care and development. The agency administers an energy assistance program that assists low-income households with their home energy costs. It has a team of social workers that provides comprehensive assessment and intensive case management of various barriers, including substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health issues, teenage pregnancy and parenting, child protection and chronic homelessness. The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is administered by the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services and is located in Carson City, Nev.
