The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international, nonprofit organization that works to promotes world peace, prosperity and equality. Founded in 1898, it provides funds for research in the areas of diabetes, cancer, and heart and kidney-related diseases. The organization conducts various fundraising events for senior citizens and neglected and abused children. The Fraternal Order of Eagles operates the Retired Eagle Activities Club, as well as administers the Law Enforcement, EMT and Firefighter Membership program. It also organizes art contests for children. The organization serves several local and national charities. The Fraternal Order of Eagles has more members in more than 1,700 local aeries and auxiliaries in the United States and Canada. The organization maintains the Eagle Village, which is a residential complex that is spread across an area of over 25 acres.
