Established in 1972, the Nevada Rural Housing Authority is a public housing authority that administers affordable homeownership and rental programs. It serves more than 280,000 people in over 15 counties throughout Nevada. The authority Section 8 program provides rental assistance to low-income families, senior citizens and people with disabilities. It administers a loan assistance program, Home At Last, which provides down-payment grant and instant home equity for first-time buyers and eligible veterans. The Nevada Rural Housing Authority is located in Carson City, Nev.
