Ralph Galletti, an Italian immigrant, opened the Coney Island in 1927. it was originally a wholesale tamale factory which sold to the local casinos. Ralph's son, John, added the bar and dining room in 1946 after returning home after serving in WW11. Today, John's son, Greg, owns and runs the business. It is an historical landmark in Sparks, NV. It continues to be a locals favorite spot for lunches or private banquet parties for dinners served family style Monday thru Saturday. Greg's sister, Lorri, prepares authentic Italian dinners on Wednesday nights.
