The Guardianship Compliance Office (GCO) is a division of the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) within the Supreme Court of Nevada. Established by Assembly Bill 130 during the 79th Legislative Session, the GCO offers voluntary services to Nevada District Courts to enhance the administration of guardianship services. With a team of program managers, forensic financial specialists, and investigators, the GCO assists District Courts in identifying reporting deficiencies, reviewing annual reports and accountings, and implementing best practices in managing guardianship cases.
The GCO provides enhanced financial reviews and investigations, as well as a hotline for the public to ask questions or report complaints. Services are offered to District Courts at no cost, and the GCO collaborates with the courts to implement a guardianship case management system and ensure consistent and uniform performance and outcome measures. In addition, the GCO supports the rights of protected persons through the Protected Person's Bill of Rights and provides resources for reporting fraud and abuse by guardians.
