Established in 1937, the Nebraska State Patrol is a statewide full-service law enforcement agency. The agency s officers work with communities to improve public safety, enforce traffic and drug laws, investigate crimes and enforce laws and regulations pertaining to motor carriers. The agency operates a training academy that provides additional training for staff and personnel from outside law enforcement agencies. The academy offers training in various areas, such as leadership, supervisory skills, accident investigation classes, police service dog training, homeland security and domestic violence. The Nebraska State Patrol, with an office in Grand Island, Neb., also maintains a sex offender list.
