Located in Omaha, Neb., Community Alliance is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a system of personal and community-based rehabilitation and support services to assist individuals recovering from mental illnesses. Founded in 1981, it provides day rehabilitation services that includes a weekday program offering a wide variety of educational and experimental learning activities that focus on relearning the responsible performance of everyday tasks, managing one's illness and planned re-entry into work and community life. Its residential rehabilitation services include supervised group living in a residential community for individuals who are learning to manage their illness and preparing to live more independently. It works in partnership with area shelters, offering assistance in meeting both immediate and ongoing housing, social service and mental health needs. It provides assertive community treatment that combines psychiatric, nursing, clinical, rehabilitative and support services.
