The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office is one of the chief law enforcement agencies in Lewis and Clark County, Mont. It is comprised of more than 60 employees, including sworn officers, detention officers and professional support staff. The Sheriff's Office provides general law enforcement, detention functions, rural fire support, and search and rescue operations for the citizens in a service area of over 2 million acres. The office supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office is located in Helena, Mont.
