Alton Highschool
Alton High School offers a variety of academic programs and extracurricular activities to students in grades 9 through 12. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as art, music, business education, computers, English and mathematics. The school additionally offers classes in science, social studies and special education. Alton High School has departments for health and physical education, home economics and foreign languages. Its library stocks a variety of hardware devices, software tools, online databases, books, magazines, newspapers, periodicals and other reference materials. The school s athletics department offers various sports activities, including football, volleyball, golf, cross country, soccer, tennis, cheerleading, basketball, wrestling, bowling, track and field and softball. In addition, Alton High School supports several clubs and organizations that include the National Honor Society, a student council, jazz band, and French, German, commercial art, writers and chess clubs. It is located in Alton, Ill., and is a part of Alton Community Unit School District 11.
