The BLIA (Big Lake Improvement Association) is a non-profit organization founded in 1956 by a group of residents and lake supporters in Mound City, MO. Dedicated to preserving the health and beauty of Big Lake, the BLIA funds various activities for the beautification of the lake and its surrounding areas, connects homeowners in the community, and ensures the safety and well-being of the lake through partnerships with the Village and the maintenance of the water pump.
With a strong sense of community, the BLIA offers volunteer and social opportunities for its members, who play a vital role in keeping Big Lake thriving. Committed to its mission, the BLIA is governed by a board of nine non-paid volunteers who are elected by the membership and work towards the preservation and protection of Big Lake.
