Dr. Graven is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty interest in spine surgery. He specializes in non-operative and operative care of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral regions of the spine for degenerative disc disease, herniated intervertebral discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, trauma, and fracture. Current trends in treatment methods include minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression, spinal fusion, and kyphoplasty, as well as spinal cord stimulation, lumbar epidural steroid injections, and sacroiliac fusion for management of back pain. Dr. Graven received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Normandy Osteopathic Hospitals in St. Louis, Missouri and his post-graduate training at the School of Aerospace Medicine in the United States Air Force. He retired with the rank of Colonel after serving 25 years as an orthopedic surgeon/chief of orthopedics at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska, Air Force flight surgeon, and medical group commander in the Missouri Air National Guard. Dr. Graven is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the North American Spine Society. Dr. Graven serves St. Charles County at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis.
