HistoryJulie worked in various mental health settings after graduating with a Masters in Counseling, including an outpatient substance abuse treatment center, BJC Behavioral Health, and Epworth Children and Family Services. In each of these positions, Julie gained valuable knowledge and skills that she wanted to incorporate into her own practice where she could help individuals thrive and flourish in their relationships and in their lives. Abundant Life's first home was a small office in Creve Coeur. In November of 2016, Abundant Life joined Gateway Wellness Associates LLC and moved into their office suite in Richmond Heights. Julie is thrilled to be practicing with a group of professionals who value and strive for wellness of the whole person - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.SpecialtiesTherapist Julie Williamson specializes in working with women suffering from anxiety and various relational issues in the St. Louis area. While Julie works with clients of all faiths, her clinical training allows her to integrate Scripture and biblical principles into her work with clients, at the client's request. Julie's goal as a therapist is to create a space of trust and safety so that her clients feel able to share the challenges they face without fear of judgment or criticism. Julie is trained in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, an evidenced-based treatment for depression and anxiety. Julie is also a certified instructor of the Premarital Interpersonal Choices & Knowledge (PICK) program, which assists those who are single or single-again in knowing what to look for in a potential partner, and how to build healthy attachments in relationships. Julie has a strong understanding of available mental health resources in the community. Helping people find joy and healing in their lives is Julie's passion, and her goal is to walk humbly alongside her clients on their journey to living their lives to their fullest.
