The office of the Missouri State Treasurer is responsible for managing Missouri s $19 billion in annual state revenues, directing the state s banking services and managing state s $3.1 billion investment portfolio. The office safeguards more than $220 million in unclaimed assets that have been turned over to the state by banks, businesses, insurance companies and government agencies and tries to locate the rightful owners. It administers the BIG Missouri Linked Deposit program, which enables financial institutions to make low-cost loans to businesses and farms to create jobs. The office also operates the BELIEVE program, which stands for Bringing Educational Leadership by Investing and Expecting Victory in Every child.
