Wildwood residents and businesses are protected by a diverse and highly skilled set of officers and detectives contracted from the St. Louis County Police Department, but working from a station based in the heart of Wildwood.
According to the department's website, in addition to the nearly 40 police officers permanently assigned to the Wildwood Precinct, more than 700 commissioned St. Louis County Police Department officers are available to help address major concerns. St. Louis County Division of Criminal Investigation detectives conduct investigations of felony crimes or any situation as requested by the Wildwood supervisors. All police-related resources available to the St. Louis County Police Department are available to the City of Wildwood.
School resource officers (SROs) stationed at four Rockwood School District buildings -- Lafayette High, LaSalle Springs Middle, Rockwood Valley Middle and Wildwood Middle -- also are within the Wildwood Precinct.
Wildwood police officers are a mainstay at every major city event. They also reach out to the community through such activities as Mobile Halloween Safety Centers through which officers in additional patrol vehicles hand out glow necklaces or bracelets for child visibility.
True to Wildwood's focus on active lifestyles and nature, the Wildwood Precinct also incorporates officers who patrol from their bicycles.
