The St. Charles County Health Department has three divisions: the Division of Public Health, the Division of Humane Services and the Division of Environmental Service.
These three divisions oversee the health and safety of the community by developing and enforcing health and safety guidelines for everything from food preparation at festivals to maintenance and care of neighborhood pools.
Public Health Services provides educational programs and training, immunizations, STD prevention and treatment, information on disease and information on the Women Infant and Child program.
Environmental Public Health approves licenses for food establishments like restaurants and grocery stores, inspects hotels, motels, daycare centers, tattoo and body piercing stores and offers food safety classes.
