HistoryThe inspiration of this organization was created as a result of a group of deaf people that witnessed multiple violations of a several ADA rights of deaf and hard of hearing people in St. Louis. We desire to increase awareness and provide education to the mainstream population so they better understand the needs of this special group of people.SpecialtiesThe Mission of Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation, Inc. is to dedicate themselves to reducing discrimination, bias and oppression towards deaf and hard of hearing people by providing them with tools and methods that allow them to empower themselves and lead more productive lives, both personally and professionally. We offer interpreting services, advocacy support, sign language classes, support groups, tutoring sessions for interpreters, referral services and several other empowering activities.
