Project MEGSSS has been discovering, inspiring and cultivating the talents of middleschool students gifted in mathematics for more than 30 years. As a parent-run, tuition-based organization, Project MEGSSS creates a bridge between elementary and high school mathematics for mathematically gifted middle-school students. Admission is granted through a nomination and "above level" testing process. Educators or parents may nominate 5th and 6th grade students on the website. The nomination process starts in January of each year for enrollment in an introductory summer program.
While the MEGSSS curriculum does accelerate math education for these gifted students, it is designed to also expand exposure to math. MEGSSS is one of the few programs that allows gifted students to remain with their age-mates. The services are provided to all qualified students regardless of race, color, creed, gender or national origin. Financial aid is provided through the Employees Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis and The Saigh Foundation.
