Pizza by the Chef began as Pizza Chef, opening its doors to Branson West in 1992. Located in Claybough Plaza at the junction of HWY 13 and 76, this was one of the first pizza restaurants located in the Branson West-Kimberling City area. Still at the same location, Pizza by the Chef-Branson West uses years of experience to better serve their customers. A second store was opened in 1999, by different owners in Hollister. This restaurant was the third business to open in the newly developed Southtowne Center on HWY 65. The addition of Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse to Southtowne Center has increased awareness and traffic in this still developing retail area. In 2002, both restaurants changed their name from Pizza Chef to Pizza by the Chef. The name change did not change the years of established tradition in service and pizza quality. As an independent pizza restaurant, Pizza by the Chef continues to focus on quality and service. Our pizza is cooked in a traditional brick lined deck oven, not a quick cook conveyor belt oven. The pizza dough is made on-site, from scratch daily, not from a mix or a pre-made frozen crust. Our pizza sauce is made in-house, from scratch as well using our own recipe. Our sub sandwich bread is made from scratch and baked daily in each store. Vegetable for our pizzas and salads are fresh, prepared in-house, not frozen. Our salad dressings, like our other items, are made from scratch, in-house, using our own secret recipes.
