The Division of Geology and Land Survey, governed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, offers investigation and reporting services for various geological resources of the sate. The division annually conducts more than 500 geologic site investigations. It develops maps to identify areas that are susceptible to a variety of geologic hazards, such as earthquakes and landslides. The Division of Geology and Land Survey serves geologists, engineers, planners, real estate developers, legislators and government agencies. The division maintains original the records of several land survey monuments in Missouri. In addition, it provides assistance with the determination of land boundaries. The Division of Geology and Land Survey maintains a library that houses a selection of survey field books and plats.
