Jessica has dedicated her life to our immigrant community. In high school, she taught the first English classes in her community. She studied Spanish in Chicago and Mexico. When she returned to Kansas City, Jessica began working at an immigration law firm and spent her free time as a community organizer. Soon, she decided to become a lawyer. While at UMKC Law School, she began her husband's immigration process. Her family expected a four-month separation while he waited in Mexico for approval of her pardon. Her children cried daily for her father while Jessica continued her studies alone. Eleven long months later, her pardon was finally approved and her family was reunited. Jessica continued serving immigrants as an attorney for nonprofit organizations before starting her own law firm in 2016. It has now grown to over 30 team members in multiple countries!
