Northeast Family & Behavioral Health
Established in 1968, the Northeast Missouri Health Council is a nonprofit organization that maintains a network of nearly 2,500 regional, primary and preventive health care clinics. It offers a variety of medical and dental services and programs to more than 17 million low-income and medically indigent patients. The organization provides women s health, prenatal, pediatric, immunization, mental health counseling, pregnancy testing, diagnostic, radiology and acute care services. The Northeast Missouri Health Council receives funding from the Department of Health and Human Services to provide sliding fee discounts to qualified patients who need primary health care. The organization maintains professional affiliations with medical, dental and educational institutions to provide students, interns and residents with clinical and on-site training opportunities. It is located in Kirksville, Mo.
