Jefferson City Parks and Recreation is one of the departments administered by of The City of Jefferson. Its areas of responsibility include maintenance of local parks and recreation facilities and collection of taxes, fees and grants. The recreational facilities managed by the department includes playgrounds, pavilions, lakes, rivers, scenic spots, gymnasiums, skating parks, trials and forestry, swimming pools, golf courses and an ice arena. Its recreation centers have facilities for various sports, including baseball, basketball, golf, skating and swimming. In addition, the department organizes a variety of activities that include overnight camps, birthday parties and holiday celebration, and dance and gaming events. Its administrative office is located in Jefferson City, Mo.
