History
June 13, 2000 saw the opening of the first Habitat Kansas City ReStore located on Deramus Ave. Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City now owns and operates four locations throughout the Kansas City area offering new and gently used appliances, furniture and building materials, all available at deeply discounted prices to the general public. Since then, ReStore has been very successful in recruiting a variety of sources for merchandise including individuals, professional remodelers, manufacturers and distributors, home builders and many others looking for an alternative to throwing usable materials in the landfill. Because of support from shoppers, donors and volunteers, we are able to provide funding to our Habitat affiliate, which covers all administrative and fundraising expenses, as well as directly funding the construction of Habitat homes in six counties.
