Columbia Fire Department
The Columbia Fire Department is one of the departments of the city of Columbia located in Missouri. It has a team of firefighters and paramedics that attend various calls relating to fire accidents in the residential and commercial sector. The fire department has special technicians that install fire detection and extinguishing systems in more than 4,000 homes annually. Its firefighters also provide education to homeowners regarding fire precautionary measures and safety tips in case of fire explosions. Additionally, the department issues permits to companies for burning of waste materials with a restriction of burning flammable, plastic, rubber and leather products. The Columbia Fire Department additionally conducts mock drills and encourages families to develop and practice an emergency response plan. The department also has a technical rescue team that provides emergency medical services in case of fire accidents to the residents of the community.
