WLOX is the ABC local television affiliate that provides news, programming, entertainment and information to residents of the greater Biloxi, Miss., area. The station began broadcasting in October 1963, and has been an ABC affiliate since inception. WLOX is one of the largest television stations in Mississippi and produces more than 24 hours of local programming a week. Famous news people who have worked at WLOX over the years include ESPN/ABC reporter Robin Roberts, NBC New York reporter Chuck Scarborough and KRON San Francisco anchor Mark Mullen. The station is owned and operated by Greenville, S.C.-based Liberty Corporation.
