Founded in 1980, The City of Southaven Utilities Division is a municipally owned utility firm, which manages/maintains the city's water and sewer systems. Located at Southaven, Miss., the department provides hygienic drinking water, waste water collection and water treatment services to residential/commercial properties. It also offers transportation/system improvement. The company supplies water pumped from the Memphis Sand aquifer, maintains distribution systems, elevated water towers and treatment plants, to safeguard public health. Wastewater is sent to Memphis for treatment and discharged into the Mississippi River. The City of Southaven Utilities Division caters to approximately 45,000 people in the city.
