The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program provides housing opportunities for low and moderate income families through a public and private partnership. It is administered by the Mississippi Regional Housing Authority IV, which serves the residents of Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Lowndes, Montgomery, Oktibbeha, Webster and Winston counties in Mississippi. The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority IV provides more than 2,500 assisted housing units for over 7,000 individuals in northeastern Mississippi. The authority also administers the Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS), which is designed to help families through rental assistance to become self- supporting. The Mississippi Regional Housing Authority IV was founded in 1944.
