History
Ross furniture is an offspring of City Furniture Co., which opened in Jackson in 1945. Following two brief partnerships, Fred Stringer Sr. and his wife, Myrtle Ross Stringer, became the sole owners of city furniture. In 1958, Fred Stringer and his son Ross Stringer opened Ross Furniture in Jackson. Building on this long-standing family business are Ross Stringer's daughters Bridget English and Anita Watkins and Bridget's husband Michael English. Members of the fourth generation have also joined the ranks of the family business, with Brannon English working sales and Brittney English working as the artist on staff.
