Journal Publishing Company is a newspaper publishing company owned by the nonprofit CREATES Foundation. The Journal has the responsibility of providing news and advertising messages as well as editorially expressing the convictions of its editor and publisher. Other newspapers in the Journal Publishing group consist of The Amory Advertiser, The Aberdeen Examiner, The Itawamba County Times, The Pontiac Progress and The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal was established in 1872 as a weekly, becoming a daily newspaper in 1936. The CREATES Foundation formed by George McLean and Anna Keirsey McLean is a regional development organization established to be a catalyst for positive change in northeast Mississippi.
