Winona State University is a regional public university and has an annual enrollment of more than 8,000 students. The college offers more than 80 undergraduate, preprofessional, licensure and graduate programs. It is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the National Association of Schools of Music and the National League of Nursing. The college offers undergraduate courses in exercise and rehabilitative sciences, arts, accounting, global studies, social work, special education, nursing and history. It also offers graduate programs in nursing and health sciences, liberal arts, chemistry, communication studies, counselor education, music and chemistry. The college has a counseling center that provides assistance to students on various academic and social problems. Winona State University, founded in 1858, is located in Rochester, Minn.
