The West St. Paul Police Department works to safeguard lives and property, maintain law and order, and preserve peace through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It is comprised of more than 30 sworn police officers and civilian volunteers. The department operates records, administration and investigation divisions. The West St. Paul Police Department maintains a communication division that coordinates responses to police, fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency calls. It supports National Night Out and neighborhood and vacation watch programs. The department provides information regarding identity theft, crime prevention and Internet safety. The West St. Paul Police Department employs several reserve officers who handle complaints related to parking and stalled vehicles, as well as damage to vehicles and property.
