Organized in 1998, the West Metro Fire-Rescue District works to provide fire and safety services and security to residents and businesses. Its services include fire suppression, emergency medical support, rescue and extrication services, code enforcement, safety education and emergency hazardous materials release response. The department serves an area of more than 10 square miles and maintains over two fire stations. The West Metro Fire-Rescue District monitors existing buildings through plan reviews, general inspections, and fire and life safety complaint investigations. It supports tours of the fire station, extinguisher training, and fire, apartment and school safety presentations. The department s offices are also responsible for firefighting duties, incident command, and station and equipment maintenance. The West Metro Fire-Rescue District is located in New Hope, Minn.
