Let us protect your smile!At the University of Minnesota Dental Clinics we provide general and specialty dental care in association with the School of Dentistry's educational programs. Each year, there are more than 100,000 patient visits in the dental clinics which are located in Moos Health Sciences Tower on the East Bank of the Minneapolis East Bank Campus. The following summarizes the variety of treatment choices available.We offer: Predoctoral Student Clinic Dental Hygiene Clinic Post-graduate Training Programs Faculty Practice Special ServicesAll treatment in the predoctoral student clinic is provided by students under faculty supervision. Patient selection is based upon the educational needs and resources of the School of Dentistry. Dental hygiene students provide teeth cleaning under faculty supervision to current patients, U of M students and other individuals depending on dental health needs. The School of Dentistry has training programs in the certified specialties of endodontics ("root canal" treatment), oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics (treatment of gingival disorders, i.e. "gum disease"), and prosthodontics (replacement of missing teeth with fixed and/or removable prosthesis, including implants). Additional programs address TMJ disorders, facial pain, cleft palate and craniofacial anomalies.The School of Dentistry also houses a faculty dental practice which serves patients who choose to be treated by School of Dentistry faculty members.Through a variety of clinics, patients have access to specialized care for conditions including TMD/TMJ, orofacial pain, cleft palate, ectodermal dysplasia and Xerostomia.
