The Department of Sociology at the University of Minnesota was founded in 1892. It offers various graduate and undergraduate courses to students. The department consists of more than 30 faculty members. It provides education to more than 75 graduate students and more than 600 undergraduate majors. The department is a part of the College of Liberal Arts and offers a wide range of courses and researches. The department s graduate program offers training in the fundamentals of sociological theory and methods. It also provides opportunities for advanced training through seminars, research assistantships, teaching assistantships and instructorships. The department offers several centers, such as Life Course, Minnesota Population, Teaching Resources and the Flexible Work and Well-Being Center. The Department of Sociology is located in Minneapolis.
