Founded in 1987, Transition Networks first products adapted coaxial cable to twisted-pair cables and connected terminals to mainframe computers. The company was renamed Transition Networks in 1995 after previously being known as Transition Engineering. It has experienced continued rapid growth as its products have evolved from general ethernet networking equipment to a complete line of conversion technology solutions. In 1998, Transition Networks was purchased by Communication Systems. Transition Networks offers networking connectivity solutions that make the conversion between disparate media types possible. The company designs and markets these media conversion technologies across a broad spectrum of networking protocols. It works alongside leading networking vendors and others to provide conversion technology solutions that offer adaptations without affecting the performance, nature or appearance of the network. Based in Minneapolis, Transition Networks distributes hardware-based connectivity solutions exclusively through a network of resellers in more than 50 countries.
