We are known for our hunter green church building, our Christmas Eve barn worship service, our youth Workcamp trips, our preschool, and our joyful smiles! Saint John Lutheran Church was organized in 1896 and then officially became a congregation in 1897. Through the years, we were linked with congregations in Princeton and Orrock until we were able to call our own pastor. Since 1998, we have been a two-pastor congregation. We currently have a paid staff of eight and support a preschool staff of three. We have been in our present "green church" building on Fremont Avenue ( County Road 4 ) since 1972. It is our third building. The education wing was added in 1978. Air conditioning and a new sound system were added in 2000. In 2003 we started a renovation project. It began with a restoration of the outside of our building. We then began remodeling of our fellowship hall, quilt room, downstairs bathrooms, Sunday School rooms, church office, library, and kitchen. Some of this work continues today.
